While family and friends can be enormously helpful at this time, they can also be a source of stress. Your ability and desire to offer support to them (and them to you) can be hampered by each others need to grieve.

As important as it is for family and friends to grieve together, personal grieving time is important.  Loneliness is a significant factor and, sometimes “aloneness” is important too.
