Caring for the family and friends of the deceased is a worthy task which demands a level of enterprise difficult to accomplish fully in any environment. Each person’s needs are different depending on various circumstances and the personalities of the people involved. Grief, of course, has no timetable or magic formula. Although there is a special bond among relations, often times, this same bond can be an impediment to grief relief. Commiseration with a stranger with like circumstance, however, allows an interaction unobstructed by strong personal family ties and permits one to concentrate on one’s own grief issues. And, the anonymity of the Internet grants the user uninhibited ability to share one’s inner feelings. Aftercare is often an issue difficult to resolve. How far can one go in offering solace and condolence. What time frame? What venue? GROWW was developed to meet some of these questions. Easy access on the Internet. A place to go in the middle of the night. A group of peers who have experienced the same situation. A place of commiseration, of sharing, of comfort, of consolation.
